Andrew Kain

Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice

Mr. Kain is a Director in Beacon’s Health Care & Life Science Practice. He brings more than 15 years of experience to Beacon, including senior leadership positions in strategic consulting, investment banking, M&A, public policy, and political advocacy.  Before joining Beacon, he was an investment banking principal at a boutique private equity firm, responsible for raising more than $30 million of private investment capital, and representing and structuring more than $400 million in M&A transactions.  His expertise includes complex financial structuring, business origination and due diligence, and market research and intelligence.

Mr. Kain holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Southern Maine.

Prior to his business career, he was an expert in grassroots organizing strategy, helping to elect candidates in thirteen different states. He was a strategic advisor for democracy advocates in three foreign countries, designing political engagement strategies to engage and empower women in Muslim countries who were joining political process for the first time.  On two separate occasions he has been asked to promptly leave countries unfriendly to his democracy-building tactics.  He now lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine with his wife, son, and dog.
